More compact: Rexroth’s new hydraulic motor reduces in length by 26%.

With even more powerful performance and a smaller installation footprint, Bosch Rexroth’s brand-new A2FM70 series swashplate hydraulic motors meet the increasingly stringent demands of construction machinery manufacturers—particularly well-suited for applications in concrete mixer trucks. This motor achieves an outstanding power density while reducing its length by 26%. Additionally, Bosch Rexroth has introduced two new extra pressure levels for this series, enabling the new motors to not only handle typical operating conditions at 350 bar but also excel in heavy-duty applications, reaching pressures as high as 500 bar. With even more powerful performance and a smaller installation footprint, Bosch Rexroth’s brand-new A2FM 70 series axial piston hydraulic motor meets the increasingly stringent demands of construction machinery manufacturers—particularly well-suited for applications in concrete mixer trucks.

Compared to the 61 series, Rexroth’s new 70 series swashplate motors feature a three-pressure-level design, delivering even higher power density.

The brand-new Rexroth axial piston motor features a 40° swashplate design. Thanks to optimized rotary unit design and the integration of a flush-and-bypass valve, its overall size has been significantly reduced. Depending on the selected size, the length of this motor series can be reduced by up to 26%. As a result of this reduced length, the motor achieves weight savings of up to 38%. For example, a motor with a pressure range of 300/350 bar and a displacement of 107 cm³ can see its weight drop from approximately 32 kg to around 20 kg.

Bosch Rexroth has added two additional pressure levels to the new A2FM 70 series motor, successfully expanding its original pressure range—previously perfectly matched with medium-pressure pumps—to cover a broader spectrum of applications. In addition to the maximum pressure of 450 bar already offered by the original series, the new motor is now also suitable for operating conditions with maximum pressures of 350 bar and 500 bar.

Thanks to its three different pressure levels, the A2FM 70 series is well-suited for both cost-sensitive machinery with lower pressure requirements and heavy-duty machinery with the highest pressure demands. Meanwhile, the three displacement models—80, 90, and 107 cm³—are capable of handling a wide range of tasks in mobile work machinery. Like the globally popular A2FM 61 series, the new fixed-displacement motor boasts high starting efficiency and supports rotational speeds of up to 5,000 rpm, making it suitable for both open- and closed-loop systems.

The new A2FM series of variable-displacement motors can be used to drive concrete mixer drum rotors, winches on truck cranes, vibration transmission systems in road rollers, as well as drilling equipment and rolling mills. Bosch Rexroth is also pairing the new motors with axial piston pumps, providing customers with more compact and easier-to-install hydrostatic travel drives—particularly well-suited for snowplows and combine harvesters.
